    Flowers are a very traditional gift for mother's day, but consider giving a plant that can bring enjoyment for years to come with one of the ones we reviewed below. Remember, many dads also love to work on their gardens and landscaping so a plant could be a great gift for them, too! While you may not think of plants as a wedding gift, they could make a unique and fun gift for the newlywed on your list as well.

    Everyone enjoys cookies . . . they can be a special treat especially for mom when she doesn't have to be the one to bake them!

    Last year I reviewed flowers from Michigan Bulb - but of course at the time I was only able to comment on what the plants were like when they arrived, so this year I'm including them again with some additional comments on what the plants were like all summer and fall and what they look like this year.  Flowers are a very traditional gift for mother's day, but instead of giving mom cut flowers, consider giving a plant which will bring enjoyment for years to come. Check the plants I reviewed below. Remember, many dads also love to work on their gardens and landscaping so a plant could be a great gift for them, too! While you may not think of plants as a wedding gift, they could make a unique and fun gift for the newlywed on your list as well.
Fernleaf Bleeding Heart
I'm not a gardener, but these were easy to plant! They were beautiful, with an almost "frosted" grey-blue-green leaf with lovely rose-pink heart-shaped pendant flowers. Bleeding Heart flowers will come up again this year, and for years to come, providing a lovely, unique look for your flower garden or anywhere you choose to plant them! Tremendously well done!
3-in-1 Butterfly Bush
The Butterfly Bush plants were easy to plant and grew last summer to be about five feet high - I did get several beautiful flowers. They are starting to sprout green leaves this year and I look forward to when they are beautiful shrubs 6' to 10' tall with slender, arching branches and long leaves and have three colors of flowers on each bush. The flowers will attract butterflies - hence their name! Butterfly bushes should bloom year after year providing a beautiful addition for your flower garden or anywhere you choose to plant them! Tremendously well done!
Black Knight Butterfly Bush
These Butterfly Bush plants also were easy to plant and grew last summer to be about five feet high - I did get several beautiful flowers. They are starting to sprout green leaves this year and I look forward to when they are beautiful shrubs 6' to 10' tall with slender, arching branches with lilac-like flower spikes up to 10" long at the end of each branch tip. The extremely fragrant flowers will attract butterflies - hence their name! Butterfly bushes should bloom year after year providing a beautiful addition for your flower garden or anywhere you choose to plant them! Tremendously well done!
White Hydrangeas
Hydrangea plants were easy to plant and grew last summer to be about two feet high - I did get a couple beautiful flowers. They are starting to sprout green leaves this year and I look forward to when they are beautiful, rounded shrubs 3' to 6' tall with big, round white ball-shaped flowers. Hydrangeas are the perfect plant for "non-gardeners" as they are extremely hardy - just put them in the ground and let them grow! Hydrangea bushes should bloom year after year providing a beautiful addition for your flower garden or anywhere you choose to plant them! Tremendously well done!
