the Parent Trap
Rating - G
- Favorite Features -
- two disc collection includes the original Parent Trap along with the sequel, The Parent Trap II with a grown up Hayley Mills
- excellent mix of story line with comedy
- fun songs throughout
The original with Hayley Mills is back again and sure to be a favorite of young and old alike. Fun story affirms the value of family. It is interesting to see how times have changed - in the original Parent Trap it was acceptable to show adults smoking, drinking hard liquor and slapping a child - none of which would be part of a family (G Rated) movie made today. However, the story is still as fun as it first was and I'm glad to see it return on dvd! Extremely well done, Disney!
Lilo & Stitch 2

a Glitch
Rating - PG,

- Favorite Features -
- absolutely incredible clay-animation!
- fun characters - who knew chickens could be so hilarious!
- classic story of good triumphing over evil
- disc includes games, screensavers, incredibly funny "Chicken Panic Button" and more
- strong messages of watching out for others and not giving up
Amazing! I am impressed with the creativity and imagination shown by setting the story in a "World War II-type Prisoners of War Camp". Great story, characters and awesome animation make this a classic every home should add to their collection! Tremendously well done, DreamWorks!
Gladiator
- Extended Edition
Rating - R, for intense,
graphic combat
Extended version not rated
- Favorite Features -
- commitment to keeping the story historically accurate as far as setting, attire and what Rome was like at that time
- story really gets you to care about the Gladiator
- strong message of men rescuing those who are weaker
This is an extremely violent movie - absolutely NOT a movie for children. Typically we do not review "R" rated movies, but Gladiator is a movie with many messages dads could talk about with their older college age sons. Extremely well done, Universal and DreamWorks Home Entertainment!
20th Century Fox
Robots
Rating - PG, for some
brief language and
suggestive humor
- Favorite Features -
- includes animated short
- music by Blue Man Group - incredible
- colorful, dimensional animation
- strong messages about the value we all have, not giving up, helping others and standing up for others
I love this movie! Clearly a truly, "laugh out loud" movie! My reviewers literally turned red and had tears streaming down their faces from laughing when they watched this movie! Great storyline, unique and creative characters and settings - love the Rue-Goldberg contraptions throughout! Tremendously well done, DreamWorks!
Paramount
Sahara
Rating - PG,
for action violence
- Favorite Features -
- fun, search-for-the-hidden-treasure story
- fast moving story-line keeps you engaged for the movie
- classic good vs. evil story
This is the way they made the old classic movies - excitement reigns supreme as the heroes search for the clues, solve the mystery, find the treasure and in so doing, save the world! I really like how the characters willingly and immediately gave up on their own search for the treasure to help a relative stranger who needed their help. Excellent message about putting others first and valuing people more than treasure, reward or money! I hope to see many more movies with these characters! Tremendously well done, Paramount!
