As amazing as it seems, it is already time to start thinking about Holiday Gifts! 2005 has "flown" by! As you look over the reviews we have prepared for this year, please keep the following in mind. First, with the devastation hurricane Katrina brought on our own Gulf Coast, there is the very real possibility many families will struggle to provide even one or two gifts for their family members. As you read through our reviews, consider purchasing an extra item or two for another family in need. Every community provides Toys for Tots locations for new, unwrapped toys to be dropped off to help families in need. Your local Red Cross may be able to provide information on ways you can help provide gift items - possibly for adults as well. Check with your church denomination to see if they are planning any gift drives to help their churches in the Gulf Area encourage and reach out to families who were impacted by the hurricane. 2005 has presented us with the opportunity to reach out and show love and concern to others - think about ways your family can do so.
Secondly, this year in the reviews I am making a special notation for items that make "life" easier for people with disabilities. I have MS, Lupus and Fibromyalgia and many days find even simple meal preparation to be physically overwhelming and painful. I was so pleased to discover so many small appliances are available to help with these everyday activities.
Once again, we have expanded our reviews and are delighted to be able to provide reviews on gift items for everyone in the family! We have organized our review by type of item - toys, appliances, jewelry/watches/fine pens, food/candies/beverages, tools/knives, books, movies, games and slippers. We thank all the companies for sending so many excellent items we were able to review this year and sincerely hope you find our reviews helpful as you begin to decide what you will give the people in your life!
